THE BRIEF
The year is 2030, and you're designing an app for a new pharmaceutical product.
I chose to create a smart necklace for combat soldiers of
all kinds that got out of war and got trauma because of that.

THE PROBLEM
Since October 7th, there has been a tremendous increase in the number of soldiers experiencing war-related trauma. Despite the growing population at risk of developing PTSD, there remains a lack of an efficient platform dedicated to supporting them through this challenging period.

Market Analysis

PTSD Coach
An app that recommends daily activities and a massive library of meditations, breathing exercies and more

Virtual Hope Box
An app for meditation and grounding. Users can build personalized "hope boxes" filled with the own music, meditations, etc.

Moving Forward
An app that helps the soldiers in the transition back to civilian life, by setting goals, daily routines and regaining control and stability in their life

User Persona

Eylon Berda
Age:
24
Location:
Jerusalem, Israel
Job:
Unemployed
Bio
Eylon is a 24 years old male. He is currently lives at home with his parents, he has a girlfriend who lives at Kfar Saba. During the week he works out, study to his SATs and trying to transition his life and mindset his civilian life before the war. Although having a schedule, Eylon can't seem to go by it, everytime he starts, his mind starts to wonder to events from the last time he was at the army, and he just can't seem to find the inner peace, required for studying, or let alone live a quiet life with all the problems and wonders you have by being a civilian.
Existing Habits & Reactions
While he's trying to study, he can't seem to focus, so he gives up
If he's feeling stressed, he's going out to smoke a cigarette
If he's experiencing a flashback he sends a message to his friend
During the week between the sessions he feels lonely so he sometimes give up before trying, but he does not want to rely on his psychologist so he just buries it inside and wait for the next session.
Technology
He uses his phone most of the day, doomscrolling through YouTube, TikTok, Instagram Reels and more
Dismissing messages from his friends and family
Goals
Feeling calm and able during study sessions
Being present at social events
Successfully manage a schedule

JTBD
When an intrusive thought hits me right in the middle of a task, I want to calm myself down so i can regain focus and finish the task successfully and efficiently.
When I transition back to civilian life after the army, I want to be able to keep a daily schedule without being overstimulated by the ammount of missions I have, so I can feel like I am moving forward.
When I feel too overwhelmed by emotions to handle it alone, I want to have the option to signal that I am in a crisis without telling them myself, so I can get support without feeling like a burden or having to justify why I need help

Typography
Simpler Alte by Hagilda
What's the reason behind the decision?
Simpler is a widely used font throughout apps of all kinds.
The 'Alte' version, in contrast to the regular font, suggest a smooth edges and feeling all around. The idea was to bring a familiar look in the letters, so at least something will fill known and familiar to their eyes

Colors
Why all those colors?
While working it, I came to the realization that we need a system for the colors, each section will be a different color, and it goes from blue to red. The spectrum goes with how much mental effort do you require to give. From blue - which is a systematic section to red which requires to go inside, meditate and more.
